Although UWACS has a healthy membership of about 90 singers, new blood is always welcome - especially male singers. Singing with a large group has advantages: you hear people with beautiful voices singing around you; and your voice blends together with other voices, so you´re guaranteed a little anonimity!
Under the Musical Directorship of Burhan Güner, UWACS is rehearsing for a number of concerts listed in the Concert Calendar.
The choir rehearses Wednesday evenings, from 7:30pm-9:45pm, at the University of Western Australia. See the schedule in the Information for Members page for dates and rehearsal venues.
Our policy is a 'try before you buy'. So you are welcome to come to rehearsals and sing with us to see if UWACS is to your taste. If you decide to stay and you want to sing in the concert (for which we are rehearsing) then you need to undergo an audition with the Musical Director. The audition is private, and the audition piece is part of what we are rehearsing at the time. The cost of membership (if you pass the audition) is $160 annually (often paid in two parts), however if you just want to sing with UWACS for one concert then the cost is $60.
