Burhan Güner is an active conductor of opera, orchestral and choral ensembles. In addition to his role as Musical Director of the University of Western Australia Choral Society, Burhan is a member of the music staff of West Australian Opera as offstage conductor, Artistic Advisor and Principal Conductor of the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and conducts for the WA Youth Music Association.

His work has included appearances with Western Australia Charity Orchestra, WA Academy of Performing Arts, University of Melbourne Music Theatre Association, Victorian Youth Symphony Orchestra, Stonnington Symphony Orchestra, Guarneri Chamber Orchestra, Perth Oratorio Choir, University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Frankston Symphony and Fremantle Symphony Orchestra.

Burhan has participated in Symphony Australia Conducting Mastercourses and has served conducting internships with Melbourne Youth Music and WA Youth Music Association. He is a recipient of the Gandel Young Conductor Award (an initiative of Stonnington Symphony Orchestra) and the Bendat Scholarship (as Young Artist Conductor with West Australian Opera).

Burhan holds a Bachelor of Music Degree with Honours from the University of Western Australia and in 2005 graduated with a Master of Music Degree in Conducting from the University of Melbourne, where he studied with John Hopkins (OBE).
