Membership
UWACS is a 100 plus strong mixed-voice choir. We have members of all backgrounds and ages, united by a shared love of choral music. Many of our members have a strong association with UWA, although this is not a prerequisite to join our choir. We perform 3 - 6 concerts a year at venues such as Winthrop Hall at UWA.
Membership is by audition. We hold auditions for prospective new members at the start of each new concert rehearsal season, usually three times per year. Auditions last up to ten minutes, and will include some vocal range exercises and aural tests and some excerpts from the repertoire we are rehearsing at the time. Members are not required to be able to sight-sing, although the ability to read music is beneficial.
